
I have worked as an electrician since October 1986 starting as an apprentice,
completing The U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training
requirements in May 1991. I passed the State of MI Journeyman exam in March 1991,
and passed the State of MI Master’s exam in September 1993.
While working as an electrician I have worked in all phases of new and remodel work
in industrial, commercial and residential installations.
I have been an Electrical Inspector and Plan Reviewer with the City of Wyoming since
June 1997. I have also been a member of the International Association of Electrical
Inspectors since 1997 and served as President from 2015-2016.
I have served as Chair of the West MI Area Metro Electrical Inspectors Association.
I have taught as an adjunct instructor at Grand Rapids Community College from January 1996 to 2014, where I taught Michigan Electrical Code & Michigan Residential Code (including PA Act’s 217 & 230 rules and requirements), Blue Print Reading and Electrical Theory.
I completed classes for my apprenticeship training at Grand Rapids Community College and have taken electrical classes through Michigan State University, have attended several classes and training seminars in the proper installation procedures of electrical equipment. Also I have attended classes and seminars in Electrical Code, Plan Review procedures, Communications and State of Michigan Administrative Rules. I have attended seminars and classes through Grand Rapids Community College in teaching techniques and communication skills and in 2001 took the required training and passed the examination to become certified as an Electrical Instructor by The National Center for Construction Education and Research.
In 2005 I completed the Train the Trainer Program from the International Association of Electrical Inspectors and am a recognized instructor to be able to teach their programs for National continuing education units at their seminars.
